Community Casefiles for Discord servers
Launch asynchronous fictional mysteries in your server. Members follow Stage Cards, examine clues, vote on the next lead, and solve cases together without live event scheduling or voice lobbies.
All evidence in this Casefile is fictional. CLNR does not read message content.
📍 Setting
A community theater during the final technical rehearsal for a new stage production.
📁 Case brief
The finale cue is supposed to remain sealed until the last rehearsal. Instead, an envelope marked for the finale is found open on the prompt table. Determine what actually happened before the cast arrives.
🧩 Investigation starts here
Which detail should be checked first?
1. Check the code: Inspect the envelope code and suffixes.
2. Check the seal: Inspect the flap and adhesive condition.
3. Check the contents: Compare the enclosed cue pages with the approved set.
🗂️ Vote with the buttons below. Progress unlocks at 0/2 member votes, or by time fallback.
⏱️ Time fallback: CLNR will continue the case after Saturday, 22. August 2026 at 07:51 if the vote target is not reached.
Asynchronous Mystery Flow
How Community Casefiles Work
Casefiles unfold gradually in member-facing channels without requiring real-time event coordination or staff supervision.
Fictional Stage Cards
Each mystery unfolds through structured Stage Cards featuring rich fictional lore, evidence tallies, and branching investigation paths.
Member Lead Voting
Members tap single-choice buttons to vote on which clue or location to examine next. Members can return later at their own pace.
Final Conclusion Stage
Once enough clues are unlocked, members cast their final vote on the mystery's conclusion to solve the Casefile together.
No Live Lobby Required
No need to organize voice events or force synchronized play. Casefiles progress naturally alongside regular server chatter.
Conservative Pacing & Human Activity Fallbacks
CLNR dynamically adapts Casefile progression to match your server's actual activity level. Casefiles never spam quiet channels or post unattended bot-only threads.
Activity-Aware Vote Targets
New cases automatically calculate conservative vote thresholds based on your server's recent interaction volume and pacing settings.
Time-Based Stage Fallbacks
If vote targets aren't reached immediately during quiet server hours, time fallbacks ensure investigations transition smoothly without stalling out.
Human Activity Safeguard
If nobody participates, CLNR pauses and waits for genuine human activity or an explicit admin resume command instead of posting solitary bot updates.
Schedule & Channel Controls
Fine-tune when and where Casefiles run using simple slash commands.
/casefile schedule
Restrict new case launches to specific times when your server is naturally most active, keeping notifications aligned with active chat periods.
/casefile channels
Designate which active text channels can "wake" pending case progression when human activity resumes after a quiet interval.
/casefile start [pack]
Admins can pick random mystery cases or select reviewed theme packs (e.g., Cyberpunk Heist, Manor Mystery, Sci-Fi Artifact) tailored to their server's vibe.
Fictional, Member-Safe & Privacy-First
Community Casefiles are built strictly for entertainment and engagement. They carry absolute boundaries regarding member privacy and server safety.
100% Fictional Evidence
All plot lines, clues, artifacts, and suspects are completely fictional. CLNR never uses real server members as suspects or culprits.
No Message Surveillance
CLNR never scans, reads, or parses member message content to construct mysteries or trigger case updates.
Zero Unfair Score Advantage
Voting on Casefiles grants standard interaction points only. Casefile participation never grants artificial score immunity or moderation bypasses.
Standard Mode Requirement
Casefiles require Standard Mode and are automatically disabled in Ghost Mode, preserving quiet operation whenever Ghost Mode is engaged.
Command Reference & Case Controls

Start Active Casefile
Launches one active random Casefile per server, bound to your chosen channel. Optionally specify a known Casefile ID or theme pack.
Inspect Case Progress
View current case details, active stage status, current vote counts, target thresholds, and target channel bindings.
Configure Channel Bindings
Set which channels display Casefile cards and select which active text channels can wake pending case progression.
Pacing & Active Hours
Configure delivery cadence, active hours start windows, and time fallback durations for your community.
Resume Ready Stage
Manually transition a case to its next stage if vote requirements have been fulfilled or after a quiet hiatus.
Recover Buried Card
Re-post the active Stage Card to the bottom of the channel if it gets buried under active discussion.
/casefile stop anytime to clear the active case state safely.
How Casefiles Complement Inactivity Cleanup
CLNR’s primary engine provides transparent inactivity management based on Decay Scores, customizable warning periods, and staff review queues.
Community Casefiles bridge the participation gap: Many quiet members hesitate to send text messages in large channels. Casefiles provide an engaging, low-pressure way for lurkers to participate through simple button taps. Because Casefile interactions earn normal interaction credit without artificial inflation, members naturally maintain their active status while enjoying fun community mysteries.
