Admins can use /config set amnesty_window with an end date and timezone to pause new Discord decay score growth through the chosen local date. Member activity still lowers scores as usual, and evaluation timing advances automatically so no bulk catch-up points are added afterward.

How Amnesty Manages Score Growth & Boundaries

Phase 1: Standard Inactivity Growth (Pre-Amnesty)
Before the amnesty window begins, member inactivity accumulates decay points on its standard scheduled timeline based on your configured Discord decay score settings.
Phase 2: Active Amnesty Window (Growth Paused)
During the saved amnesty window, no new decay score points are added for unhandled days. However, participation continues to count: eligible server activity can still decrease or reset scores under the current settings.
Phase 3: Amnesty Expires (Resumed Growth Without Catch-Up)
After the chosen local end date, normal decay checks can resume, subject to any separate decay grace or other applicable settings. CLNR advances evaluation timing during amnesty so paused days do not produce bulk catch-up score growth afterward.
Important Rule Boundary
Already-Crossed Thresholds Remain Subject to Enforcement
A seasonal amnesty window is not a score reset, a total role exemption, or a universal freeze on all moderation actions.
Members who reached warning levels, qualified for inactive roles, or crossed kick thresholds before amnesty began may still be processed under existing server rules.
Amnesty does not pause staff removal approvals, manual staff reviews, or custom rule enforcement.
Communicate holiday windows clearly in server announcements so members know that while new points pause, existing unaddressed inactivity is not automatically wiped clean.
Timezone-Aware Setup & Operational Mechanics

Local End Date & Timezone
Specify both an end date and local timezone (such as Europe/Berlin or America/New_York). CLNR keeps the amnesty window active through exactly 23:59:59 local time on that specified end date.
What Pauses During Amnesty
CLNR pauses new Decay Score increases. Members who are away on holiday or taking a seasonal gaming break will not gain unhandled inactivity points while the window is active.
Activity Still Reduces Scores
Score reductions and resets remain fully functional. Eligible activity can still lower or reset scores under the server's current activity settings.
Advanced Baseline (No Catch-Up)
CLNR advances decay evaluation timing during the window. When the window ends, the evaluation clock picks up smoothly from the current date without dumping a backlogged catch-up point surge on members.
Clear Member Transparency
Personal and admin score cards label active amnesty timing. See member status explanations for related personal context. Members running /my_score see that score growth is paused, when growth resumes, and that active chatting still lowers points.
Reviewing & Removing Windows
Need to end a holiday break early? Simply execute /config remove amnesty_window to clear the saved window immediately and restore standard decay schedule calculations.
